Add a Blog Button

Adding a KidsEmail Blog Button to your Personal Blog

There following are some instructions on how you can add a blog button (like the one that exists on our blog) to your very own blog.

Difficulty: Medium

I cannot cover the step-by-step details on how to do this for each blog. If you have the expertise needed to add a button to your blog, then proceed. Please do not email support for help with this.

If you are using WordPress:

  • Log in to the Site Admin section of your blog.
  • Go to the appearance menu item and select the ‘Widgets’ sub-menu item.
  • Find the ‘Text’ widget and move it into one of the columns (on the right).
  • Add the following code to this widget:

If you are using Blogspot / Blogger:

  • Log in to the Site Admin section of your blog.
  • Choose the Layout tab and then the ‘Page Elements’ sub-item
  • Blogger __ Edit LayoutFind the location where you’d like the blog button to appear and then click on ‘Add a Gadget’
  • A popup window should appear.  Select the ‘Custom HTML/JavaScript’ item.
  • Blogger_ Andersen Family - Add a GadgetAdd the following code to the HTML widget:

<center><a href= “http://www.kidsemail.org”> <img src= “http://www.kidsemail.org/pubImages/BlogButton.png” border= “0″> </a></center>

 

There, you should now have the KidsEmail blog button on your very own blog!

If you are using Weebly:

  • Right-click on the blog button on this blog and save it to your desktop.
  • Log in to the Site Admin section of your Weebly Site.
  • Choose the picture element and drag it to wherever you’d like on your site.
  • PictureElementClick on the picture element and upload the blog button that you downloaded to your desktop in the first step.
  • Then click on the ‘Set Link’ link and select ‘Website’ from the popup menu.
  • Type in www.kidsemail.org in the text box.weebly2

There, you should now have the KidsEmail blog button on your very own Weebly website!
