Losing weight is never an easy feat, and typically requires a lot of work, perseverance and motivation on your part. So, what happens if you’re a busy mom who always seems to be on the go, but wants desperately to drop some pounds? The thought of being able to go to the gym for an hour a few times of week seems almost laughable, because let’s face it, busy moms barely have five minutes of “free time” let alone a few hours a week. So what’s a mom to do?

In order to help you in your quest to drop the pounds, we’ve put together some weight loss tips and advice that are perfect for those busy moms out there.

Include the Kids in Your Workout

Because you likely have the kids with you at all times, it’s important to look for ways to work out and be active while they are with you. If you happen to have a child who is still young enough to be in a stroller, then daily walks can be a great workout plan. Your child will get some fresh air while you get the benefits of walking. Also, since you will be pushing the stroller you’ll be adding resistance to your walk, which can amp up the amount of calories you burn.

Get Up Before the Kids

Another great tip is to wake up before the kids. Set your alarm about 30-60 minutes before they wake up and let that be your workout time. You could do some sort of cardio activity if you have an exercise machine in your home, you could follow an exercise video, and even use household items in place of weights. Those canned goods in your cupboard can be perfect for working out with.

By the time the kids get up, you will have already fit in a full workout for the day and will feel that more energized.

Don’t Skip Meals

For many it’s a natural instinct to want to skip meals if you are trying to lose weight, but this can end up doing more harm than good. Instead ensure you are eating three well-balanced and healthy meals and a couple of nutritious snacks a day. Remember portion size is just as important as what you choose to eat.
