New Study Reveals Interesting Facts about Kids and the Computer

As a child in the 70s (ooops, I am telling my age), a lot of emphasis was placed on playing outside. Kids seem to be getting away from outdoor activity. A new study from the Kaiser Foundation, kids between the ages of 7 and 18 spend more than seven and a half hours a day using some form of media, including the computer. When you consider that school is about seven hours a day and they do need to sleep that leaves time for little else.

Much of that time on the computer could be doing school work. The study does show that kids are spending more time online.

That’s why it is so important to have safety measures in place for when your kids are online. If you have any questions about KidsEmail.org or internet safety, please ask us.

It is true, safety measure is very very important. Days are gone when children used to listen stories from their grandparents. Now, they would like to spend more time on social sites or by being online.

Things constantly changed and parents can not do anything about it. Good old days are over :)
The only thing a parent can do is to minimize the computer time for younger kids and try to establish some good computer usage habits. When kids are 12-13 years or more things are out of control :)
Anyway here are some ideas for smaller kids:
